Parts Categories are a way for you to organise your Assemblies and Sub-Assemblies in your 3D EPC, and set hotspots for navigation.

When creating a Parts Catalog, you may want to rename your existing assemblies in your CAD, add new Parts Categories, or organise specific assemblies and parts. Sometimes, we refer to this as “adding a new hotspot”.
Important Note: You should ensure that you have successfully uploaded a Sales BOM and are satisfied with your sales content for your product first before creating Parts Categories and assigning parts to them.
Setting Parts Categories are only available to admin-level users.
The aim is to make the easiest and fastest journey for your users to find and purchase a part.
For example, on the image below, all the assemblies and parts for this product have been grouped under nine Parts Categories/Hotspots:
- Water pump assembly
- Timing cover assembly
- Rocker cover assembly
- Rockershafts
- Oil Sump assembly
- Intake Assembly
- Head assembly RH
- Head assembly LH
- Cylinder Block
