This article goes through the different components of the kits spreadsheet and how to fill it in.
The Partful platform requires kits to be uploaded in a specific format. Once your SBOM is uploaded, you can upload your kits by going to the Kits menu in ‘Manage Product’.
🔔 To help you start, please download the Kit's template spreadsheet by clicking the Download Template button on the Platform. This download will provide a pre-populated example of how kits should be filled in.
The Kit Template Spreadsheet is designed as a starting point for building your kit content so that the kits will be visible in your Parts Catalog.
The Correct Format
Once you download the Kit template, you will see the following example sheet:

Key Information:
The key fields for the Kits format you must fill in are explained below:
- Kit Part Number (Mandatory): Please provide your unique kit part number, which will be displayed to the user when buying the kit.
- Kit Name (Mandatory): When buying the kit, the user will see your kit name.
- Kits Notes/Description (Optional): Please enter any additional information the user needs to know when buying the kit.
- Sales Part Number (Mandatory): This is the sales part number you may have used in the SBOM stage. We will use it to identify the CAD part number and show it to the user.
- Non-CAD Part name (Optional): If the part sold doesn’t exist in the CAD, such as glue, a spanner, etc., enter a part name so the user can see the part name. This will be displayed as ‘NOT SHOWN’.
- Quantity (Mandatory): Enter the quantity for the parts in the kit.
- Price (without currency): Enter the kit cost without any currency e.g. "$100" should just read "100".
