Understanding The Match Report

This article goes over what the Match Report is, the potential problems you may have run into and how to manage those.

💡 The better your Match Rate is, the better your 3D Electronic Parts Catalog will be for users to navigate and purchase.

Once your Sales Bill of Materials (BOM) is uploaded, the Partful Platform will give you a Match Report.

On-screen, you will see:

  • Sales BOM Parts matched to CAD Parts (as a percentage)
  • Match Parts (Number)
  • Unmatched Parts (Number)
  • Total Parts in Sales BOM (Number)

❗️ It's not always crucial to have a 100% Match Rate - there may be a Sales Part Number that represents an item not in your CAD - for example, Kits. These are managed later in the EPC process.

Blank spaces in Column A (your first column) will indicate which of your Sales Part Numbers are not assigned to an Engineering Part Number (a part listed in your CAD).

You can use your Match Report to then go through and fill in any gaps.
